The Mark Kendall Bingham Memorial Tournament or the Bingham Cup is a biennial international, non-professional, gay rugby union tournament, first held in 2002.

We have an amazing Line up of of comedians that will get make this event a great Non-PC time. You can meet the Gryphons and help support a great couse!

The Philadelphia Gryphons Rugby Football Club (RFC) is a sports organization dedicated to encouraging participation, building athleticism, and improving our community through the sport of Rugby. We work to foster a diverse environment that welcomes all athletes, regardless of age, race, fitness level or sexual orientation. We are a member of the Eastern Pennsylvania Rugby Union, competing in Division IV play.

Why this Tournamant means so much to the Gay Community, he was one of our very own heros!
In 2002, gay and bisexual rugby union teams worldwide founded the International Gay Rugby Association and Board (IGRAB) as a body to promote rugby union as an all-inclusive non-discriminatory sport which everyone can play, regardless of sexuality.[citation needed]

An informal invitational tournament, held in May 2001, was formally inaugurated by IGRAB as a new international rugby union competition — a gay rugby union world cup — which in a unanimous decision by all the members of IGRAB became known as the Bingham Cup.

The tournament was named after Mark Bingham, a former University of California, Berkeley rugby star who had played in the May 2001 tournament for San Francisco Fog RFC and cofounded the Gotham Knights RFC. Bingham died in the September 11, 2001 attacks on board United Airlines Flight 93. According to Jon Barrett of The Advocate, he is generally accepted to be one of a group of passengers who fought with the hijackers aboard the flight, which eventually led to the hijackers crashing the plane into a vacant field in Pennsylvania instead of targets in Washington, D.C.. At the time of his death, there were around eight gay-inclusive rugby clubs worldwide, and he was helping to create others.

6 generations of comedians performing for
Bed Savage to “Deconstruct”!

The Comedian Deconstruction Anniversary show has something for each generation! We have 6 generations of comedians performing a little something for Bed Savage to “Deconstruct”! This show has been quoted as most unique show in town, was nominated for Best new format in the New Zealand international comedy festival and all this is available to you this month for FREE! Thats right I have no idea how to make money with a comedy show but I do know how to put on one hell of a show! Share this and tell your friends!

Its with great Pride that I am having my 4th Anniversary show for Comedian Deconstruction. I created this show to combine improv and stand up comedy in order to get my friends in both circles more stage time. I can’t say it’s been easy but it has been worth it. I don’t think I ever made a profit, but I did provide a lot of comedians in Philadelphia a warm and welcoming room to push themselves to perform longer sets. I am proud that my show has always given the best slot during the show to a Virgin/New Comedian so they can fall in love with the feeling of a crowd laughing at the jokes they worked so hard on in the open mics. (best feeling in the world)! We have raised money for the PSPCA, and even got a dog adopted with some free dog training!
I am beyond grateful to Bed Savage for being the greatest Improv group in Philadelphia and keeping my format alive and strong. To my peeps keeping the lights going in the back over the years and more recently my man Ron Kelly who literally said he was such a fan of the show he wanted to be my light guy and is one hell of a believer in this show I call my baby. (Its really hard to light and host and do it all by myself!) I have always found myself as a one man band as they say, thanks to people like Ron and Sean Mulholland for just stepping in to be a part of what I am trying to do means I am doing something right. Now with Joke Gym my other dream show I get to help make Philadelphia an even funnier town and I have a place to get my Virgin comedians from. Most importantly thanks everyone who has supported the show and to hopefully see a packed house this month’s show is free! Tell your friends lets make this a great night. The lineup is going to be a celebration of time I have comedians from the age of 16 all the way to 61!

This Month

feb copyScrew Valentines Day! This month the we are all about the single peeps out there! Our comedians are single and will be talking about single life! After the show hang out and talk about the show with your new friends you made at the show.

Comedian Deconstruction (ComDecon) is a monthly comedy experience managed by Jess Carpenter and hosted at L’Etage night club in Philadelphia, PA. ComDecon is unique because every show is based off a theme: four local comedians perform themed sets and are followed by a house improv team that ‘deconstructs’ the stand-up comedians acts. With an ever changing lineup and themes, repeat patrons are guaranteed to never see the same show twice.

Our single and mingle line up for this month are:
John Deary
Drew Pabhsky
Sonia Zambrana
Sarah Belle
Hannah Harkness
Rick Mirarcki
